We understand that it’s not always easy to walk into something new, especially church.
Whether you’ve never been to church, a seeker, a doubter, or if you have been a follower of Jesus for many years, you are welcome at Church in the Hills.
You’ll discover that we focus our music and worship, the teaching and preaching primarily about the gospel of Jesus Christ unapologetically in our worship services. Our desire is to bring glory to God in all we do.
Maybe you have not been in a Christian community for quite some time, you have been hurt and not sure if you can trust a spiritual community again – we welcome you here. Maybe you are new to Calgary and have been looking for a home church – please join us this Sunday. There are lots of great churches in Calgary, and you’ll know once you visit us if CitH is the place for you. There are other excellent churches in North Calgary, like our friends, Beddington Pentecostal Church. Once you find your church home, commit yourself to that community.
You’ll learn we are not perfect, but fortunately, we’ve been saved by the one who is.
FINDING YOUR WAY AROUND
Once you get to CitH, you notice that we meet in a High School. We are working towards a permanent facility, and until that time the location does not stop us from being the church of faith and action. Church is not a building or location anyway … the church is people and that is our prime investment.
Once in the school you will notice the signs directing you to the auditorium. Please stop by the information desk to fill out a ‘welcome card’, and help yourself to a coffee and a bagel. Hosts will be at the doors to greet you and help in any way they can.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Wear what you like. There is no spoken dress code – people do dress casual – jeans are fine, but a few people dress up. What matters to us is that you’re here.
WHAT HAPPENS FROM 10:30 TO NOON?
Our goal Sunday morning is to get our focus on God. We do this through passionate worship; contemporary music and preaching and teaching from the scriptures.
WHAT ABOUT THE OFFERING?
If you are a guest, feel free to let the offering plate go by and be our guest. As members of our church, we give with joy in worship to God to support the ongoing work of the church. Also – if you want to give, please know that we take church finances very seriously – to be good stewards. We make sure that we minister to the church community through kids and youth and adult ministries, and we also give our finances to support ministry partners all over Calgary and the World. Please see the list of our ministry partners.
IF I HAVE CHILDREN?
Church happens all over this building!, and we have ministry from nursery to grade six which occurs during the 2nd half of the morning worship celebration. We make a choice to include our kids in the music and worship, then after church life and the offering, we take a 4-5 minute break so you can take your children to kids church. You will be asked to personally sign in your kids, and to personally pick them up.at the end of the service. We focus on their safety and security so they are free to have a blast at church!
We choose to have age and stage small group kids ministry, with the conviction that this is the best way for children to learn about God. Our teachers are dedicated and passionate for our kids spiritual growth. Every second week our kids have their own large group worship – following their classes – it Rocks Mom and Dad!
YOUTH – IS THERE A PLACE FOR THEM?
Our students stay in the worship celebration. Youth are not in a corner somewhere but they need to be a part of the whole. Youth have so much to give – we need them. We desire to grow young men and women of God. Our Youth – ‘Kaio’ meet every Friday night, with added events like retreats, youth rallies, summer camping trips, YC, and socials through out the year.
